The new funicular ropeway from the rear Schlattli to the Stoos is a fundamental part of the project "Opening of the Stoos". The car-free village and the ski resort Stoos in the Swiss canton of Schwyz lie at 1,305 m. Until the new funicular ropeway is finished in 2013, the old installation built in the 1930s will remain in service. A special challenge is the conquest of the steep slope of 110%. This will make the new feeder line one of the steepest ropeways in the world. An innovative carrier concept makes it possible to adapt to any gradient. Gyratory sections allow for the changing level to be compensated.
The installation will be operated during summer and winter as well as during the day and during the night. Operation will be realized accompanied or unaccompanied depending on the situation at hand.
