Anniversary of the gondola in Constantine – already 12 million passengers since 2008

In the Algerian city of Constantine, a gondola with cabins for 15 passengers was put into operation in 2008 taking the inhabitants from the outlying district to the city centre in 8 minutes. Until today, this installation built by the Doppelmayr/Garaventa Group has transported 12 million passengers. The anniversary was celebrated on July 12, 2012 in Constantine with the crew of the operator company E.T.C. 'Entreprise de transport Constantine', the ministry of transport , the E.M.A. 'Entreprise Metro d'Alger', as well as other official personalities of the political and ropeway engineering sector. The Swiss ambassador, Mister Thomas Feller, also graced this anniversary with his presence.
